MINUET

The minuet as a dance from the Baroque period  was usually danced in 3/4 time .
It soon became popular in the aristocratic circles all over Europe along the17th and 18th centuries.

The word "minuet" was adapted from Italian minuetto and French menuet.

The name may refer to the short steps taken in the dance.
